The part of homeschool high school that people put off until the week before an application is due. A college wants to know what your student actually studied, in a paragraph per course, and there are twenty-odd courses across four years. This is 131 of those paragraphs, already written, in a Word file you edit.
What is in the file
- 131 course descriptions across seven subject areas: English (19), Mathematics (16), Science (19), History and Social Science (20), World Language (18), Fine Arts (20), and Practical and Elective (19).
- Each entry carries the course title, the level, the credit value, a description of a paragraph or so, and a short note on what the course usually pairs with. Eighty-six are labelled Regular, twenty-two AP, twenty-one Honors, and two dual enrollment.
- A blank course template at the end, for the course nobody else teaches. Your student's welding year, or the two summers on a boat.
- A note on levels, including the reason not to write AP on a transcript unless you registered the course through the College Board AP Course Audit. Admissions offices check that one.
What is not in the file
No transcript workbook. No state requirements. No report card, attendance log or portfolio forms. No records guide. Those are separate here, and all of them together are the Records System.
Straight answers
Is it editable? It is a Word .docx, not a picture of a document, and not a PDF you have to retype. Open it, delete what you did not do, swap our sample reading list for your real one. We wrote these expecting you to change them. A description is honest only when it matches what happened at your table.
Is this a cut-down version of what is in the $39 system? No. Same 131 descriptions, same wording, same file. The only difference is the cover page, which names this title instead of the system.
Should I buy this or the whole system? Do the arithmetic before you decide, and we would rather hand it to you than let you find it after. This file is $24. Add the Records Pack at $16 and you are at $40, which is a dollar more than the $39 Records System, and the system also carries the transcript workbook, the fifty-one state summaries and the guide. All three standalone files come to $52. Buy this one on its own if course descriptions are genuinely the only thing you are missing. If you want anything else along with it, price the system first.
