Terms & Licence

Plain version first, because nobody reads the long one. Buy it once, use it with your own family forever, print as much as you like, and do not resell it or pass the files around. If it does not work for you, say so and we refund it.

The long version is below. A licence that exists only as a friendly summary is not much use to either of us.

Who you are buying from

These materials are sold by Oceanus Networks LLC, a California limited liability company, trading as Bracken & Bough. Bracken & Bough is a trading name, not a separate company. If a charge or a receipt carries a name you did not expect, that is why, and it is not fraud. Questions go to support@brackenandbough.com, where a person reads them.

Email is faster. The box is there because a business that sells you something should be findable by post, and because the law requires it of anyone who sends marketing email.

What you may do

Everything we sell is a digital file, licensed for personal use by one household. That licence covers:

• Every child in your household, now and later. One purchase, however many students you teach, for as long as you teach them.
• Printing. As many copies as your own family needs, on paper or on a tablet, forever.
• Editing the files. They are editable on purpose. A course description is only honest when it matches the books actually on your table, so we expect you to rewrite ours, and all 131 of them open and change like any other document.
• Using your edited versions in your own official records: the transcript you send a college, the portfolio an evaluator reads. Those become your documents. We make no claim on them.

What you may not do

• Share, send, upload or post the original files, including to a co-op drive, a class group, a Facebook file section or a shared folder.
• Resell them, edited or not, for money or as a bonus attached to something else.
• Include them in a paid course, a membership, or a curriculum you sell.
• Use them to build a competing product, which includes feeding them to a machine-learning system for that purpose.

A co-op or a small group teaching from these together needs one licence per household. Write to us before you buy eight of them. We will work out a price a co-op can actually pay.

Refunds

Fourteen days, no reason required. Write to support@brackenandbough.com and we refund it. We will not ask you to justify it, and we will not ask you to delete the files first, because we could not verify that.

A downloaded file cannot be handed back. That is the awkward part of selling one. We would rather return the money than have someone sit on a purchase feeling taken.

About the state requirement summaries

Our state pages are general information, not legal advice. We are not lawyers and we are not your lawyers.

Every entry names its statute, links where we read it, and dates the month we looked, so you can go to the code and check us. Do that. Homeschool law moves, sometimes fast.

Ohio's House Bill 33 deleted the annual assessment for home education families effective 3 October 2023, and there is no assessment requirement anywhere in the section that now governs, Ohio Rev. Code § 3321.042.

Wyoming's Homeschool Freedom Act, H.B. 46, ended the annual curriculum filing on 1 July 2025 by amending subsection (b) of Wyo. Stat. 21-4-102, which now asks only that you administer a curriculum, not that you send it in. The rest of that section stands. Subsection (c) still makes a parent meet a school counselor or administrator in person and sign a consent to withdraw a child from school, unless the district has already been told the child is enrolling in a home-based educational program. Read it yourself in the legislature's Title 21 PDF, which is long, so search it for 21-4-102.

Any summary written before those dates is now wrong in one direction or the other. Ours will go stale the same way. So verify with your own state before you rely on a word of this, particularly before a filing deadline. If you catch us out of date, tell us. We will fix the entry and reissue the pack to everyone who already owns it, at no charge.

Public-domain sources

Where a product uses vintage illustration or a historical text, that work is in the public domain, and the source and the grounds for it are logged before the file ships. We check each asset against the museum or library that holds it. Aggregator public-domain badges are wrong often enough to matter, and a modern scan or restoration of an old picture can carry rights of its own. What belongs to us is the arrangement, the typesetting, the selection, and every word we wrote. That is what this licence covers.

Delivery

Files arrive immediately after purchase, by download link on the confirmation page and again by email. If nothing shows up, check your spam folder once, then write to us and we will send the files straight to you.

Changes to these terms

If we change this page, the version you bought under continues to apply to what you already own. New terms apply to new purchases. Last updated 27 July 2026.
